I knew this was coming. Of course, if it hadn’t then I would had been sad that I couldn’t gush. Okay, let’s do this.
P.S. Much fan-girling ahead. Watch out.
*While its true there is no one more amazing than Kratos who “causes women to fall over when he just says something”, I have to say that Regal Bryant is a close second. For me anyway. Yes, Regal might have a few years on him but personally I see him as like… fine wine. The older the better it tastes and goes with sex. [/blunt opinion] I cannot possibly say how much I squeal when I see Regal or hear his voice. I also feel strongly about him because he is a very level headed character and that he’s the type of person who you can trust. There should be more characters like that in the world.
*Hm. This is not so much a tough one as it is a very unfun one (for me at least). But honestly, I ship him with his one and only true love Alicia. And the Wonder Chef. LOL, NO, NOT REALLY.
And Cosette le Non.
*Nonromantic relationships are pretty big. I really adore the relationship between Presea and Regal simply because they’re more alike than I think they care to realize. I kind of see them as having a little sister/big brother relationship (as many people should). Then the other big’un is the relationship between Lloyd and Regal. It’s for sure a big brother or father-like relationship (though I would rather lean on sibling than paternal) because it’s very clear Lloyd respects and wants Regal’s opinion. Regal also brings something to the table that Lloyd hasn’t been confronted with prior and that’s confidence. None of the characters before are very confident in themselves per se. Raine falters when Dorr dies because she wasn’t able to heal him, Genis is confident in his ability to learn which Lloyd can’t relate to and even Kratos looses confidence in himself by the age old issue of him being Mithos’ errand boy. Regal is really the first character in Lloyd’s party who shows and isn’t afraid to show that “yes, I’m confident in my abilities and its rude of you to doubt them”. A helping dose of that helps a boy become a man in my opinion. There a lot more relationships like his kind of parent-helper-person relationship he has with Raine (as they are really the only adults in the group. Zelos should never be considered as an adult) and the mutual respect he shows to both Sheena and Zelos as being leaders in their own right. Let’s face it, he’s like the group big brother/daddy.
*My unpopular opinion about this character…? Okay, simple: he’s a sexy beast. I’ve noticed that quite a bit of fans find Regal to be a creepy old guy with a creepy shrunken shirt. All I have to say is that while they were complaining I was enjoying the sight of ROCK HARD ABS. Alex Louise Armstrong has nothing on Regal. My second unpopular opinion is that Regal isn’t a pedophile. It’s rather unclear how long Regal was in jail and how long Alicia has been dead. There’s also the issue of Presea having been trapped in time for 16 years. Even though Alicia is her little sister, remember that this is a society in which a sixteen year old girl is expected to Regnerate the world by herself. Most women in the world of Symphonia were probably married around Colette and Lloyd’s age and Raine was probably a rare case in which she happens to be single at the age of twenty-three. Regal is thirty-three when he joins the group and prior to that he was in jail. Considering Presea’s issue of being trapped in her body for sixteen years and the fact that Alicia’s spirit clearly has the body of a girl of at least fifteen I would argue that Regal and Alicia were in their relationship around the ages of 23 and 16, respectively. Which, again, considering the society in which Symphonia is based off of, not surprising. Hence, in that world’s idea, Regal Bryant is not a pedophile.
*Ah, one thing I wish could have happened to this character in the canon… I think it would be that somehow, some way he wasn’t directly responsible for Alicia’s death. If someone else had killed her. Of course, that would make him a different character entirely, but its a heavy burden I wish I could take away from him.
Name a character from one of my fandoms, and I will reply saying:
* How I FEEEEEL about this character * All the people I ship romantically with this character * My non-romantic OTP for this character * My unpopular opinion about this character * One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I was rereading a roleplay from several years ago...
And I cringed.
My handwriting automatically was a turn off, the bland sentences that usually only contained five to six words. But what amazes me is how much I still love my characters, even though they were so flawed. If I had a chance, I think I’d reuse them all. Especially Spica, since she’s changed so much over the years.
Let’s face it. We’re the greatest generation yet. Young adults, young blooming minds who still have the ability to be molded by ideas, by history, by the truth; young minds who have so much potential to make something of themselves. We have access to so much knowledge. No one has known as much as we know, no one has ever been as capable as we are. We have the capacity, the potential to do great things. We could change society, create our own Utopia…
But there has never been a more wasteful, disgusting, completely immoral generation. Selfish, conceited, vain. We’ve molded ourselves to care only about ourselves, to care only about the next five minutes of our lives. We care more about letting our friends know about our new hair cuts or how we accidentally locked our dogs in our cars rather than sharing what’s important, what really matters.
We have become a generation suffocated with the idea of self. Millions of little selves who unfortunately have the ability to shout it out over the world.
My earliest memory (as a human that I can remember being) would be when I was my current self at the age of three. I had just fallen onto my head and I was being admitted into the hospital to get stitches. Over all, it wasn’t a fun experience considering I was terrified.
